Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE OF LAUNCH — insert actual date when this page goes live]
JhypForge (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
JhypForge is currently trading as a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. [TODO: once JhypForge Ltd is incorporated, replace this section with the registered company name, company number, and registered office address.] For any privacy questions, contact support@jhypforge.com.
What data we collect
- Account information: your name and email address, when you register
- Order information: shipping address, items purchased, order history
- Communication preferences: whether you've opted in to marketing emails
- We do not collect or store payment card details — these are handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor, and never pass through or get stored on our servers
Why we collect it
We use your data to: process and fulfil your orders; communicate with you about your orders (confirmations, status updates, shipping); respond to support requests; and, only if you've opted in, send you emails about restocks, sales on items you've favourited, and new products. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time in Account Settings or via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate this site, each of whom processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:
- Supabase (database and account authentication)
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Resend (transactional and marketing email delivery)
- Royal Mail / our courier (shipping your order, receiving only the shipping details necessary to deliver it)
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
How long we keep it
We retain order records for as long as necessary for accounting and tax purposes, even if you later delete your account (see below — order records are anonymized on account deletion, with personal/contact details removed but the transaction record itself retained). Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your account and personal data (available directly in Account Settings); object to or restrict certain processing; and request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@jhypforge.com.
Cookies
We use only the minimum cookies necessary to operate the site — specifically, a session cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not currently use analytics or advertising tracking cookies. If this changes in future, this policy will be updated and, where required, a cookie consent option will be added.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
